I don't normally write reviews, but when I happened to come across the review for this very sweet Christmas movie that our whole family had enjoyed over the holidays, I was very surprised and felt like I needed to submit one, too. I don't think the review was accurate. Christ is brought up in the movie - such as when the dogs are in front of the Nativity, one explains to the other that the meaning of Christmas is right in front of them, and when the Native American "Handsome Fellow" says he believes in Jesus Christ and mentions he was the first spiritual leader. Additionally, the family is depicted as Christians - they mention going to church on Christmas Eve.
What I loved about this movie is that it talked about treating every day like it was Christmas - giving to others, helping those in need, etc. It also expressed the importance of family. And not only at Christmas but throughout the year. I appreciated the deep messages at the heart of the movie, yet it was still fun for my boys to watch. They loved the beautiful dogs and got wrapped up in their adventure, as did my husband and I.

We watched this movie from the library. It was very disappointing. It has nothing to do with Christ in Christmas, but refers several times to another power. It implies that different beliefs combined with good works or motives all seem to have the ability to empower a person.
