I do like most of the ones in this collection, but am very bothered by the one having to do with Cain and Abel. Adam, Eve, and Cain (by a long distance connection) are on what would be a mock of a trashy day time talk show that kids really should know nothing about anyways. Cain says that Abel got all the praise because Cain did not bring the best of his harvest. The fact is, Cain did not bring a lamb, and that lamb is such an important part of the salvation story. It is very sad that they did not make it clear that a spotless lamb was the only acceptable sacrifice.
I have purchased all of the series and not only did my children love them, but I did also. Now that my kids are all grown, I still purchase these for children of friends. These are well done and bring the Bible to life. They teach that the Christian life is to be lived out day by day.
We bought our second set, because my kids listen to it constantly. Unfortunately the first set got damaged beyond repair. The packaging of these CDs could be improved, because they slip out easily and land on the floor and we also lost one or two. Also, you have to make sure that smaller children understand that some of it is imagination and not part of the Bible. This makes chores fun and even adults enjoy it.
I grew up loving Adventures in Odyssey and am excited to see my children as the next generation of Odyssey listeners. I was thrilled to find a collection of all of the episodes based on Bible stories, and the kids have listened to it over and over again.
