Malphurs does it again. This book is a MUST for every pastor. As an updated edition, this will help every minister to get past the "week-to-week" cycle of burn-out without a plan to move forward. The reason so many churches fail, is because they fail to plan. Obviously God directs our steps, but we must pray and takes steps forward towards His intended purpose.

Instead of wasting space telling you about this book_ JUST GO BUY IT AND READ IT!! You will not be disappointed!

Malphurs book Advanced Strategic Planning gives nine key points for aiding a pastor, or ministry leader to evaluate how effective the ministry is functioning and then how to determine the mission statement, the vision statement, and the strategy to take the ministry to another level. He also gives the process for self evaluation to continue on the right path to success.

God layed a burden on my heart for plateaued or declining churches. Dr. Malphur's book is an excellent tool to help your church refocus on the purposes for which God created it, re-evaluate itself, and how to put a strategy in place to get it to where God wants it to be. An outstanding book with plenty of biblical references for what your trying to do. I highly recommend it to Pastors and lay leaders who want to jump start God's church.

Leaders would save a great deal of time, effort and even tears by reading this book. To say that its unspiritual for a church to engage in Strategic Planning is a great fallacy. This book is set to convince that God "thinks and acts strategically" and He encourages us to do the same.
