Talks With a Fatherly Tone
When I first got this in the mail, it looked beautiful. The pages are full color and glossy. It looks like one of those journals you buy at Barnes and Noble. Each page is carefully and lovingly put together.
Rather than the author speaking from the authorâÂÂs voice, the author takes on the character of God. As Nancy Guthrie says in the introduction, âÂÂThat is what this book is aboutâÂÂthe blessing and inheritance that belong to GodâÂÂs people. I invite you to celebrate that blessing and revel in that inheritance. I invite you to drench your soul in this steady stream of GodâÂÂs blessing given to you freely and fully in Christ.âÂÂ
This is a great gift or stocking stuffer. I plan on reading this again in January with my husband (free book given for review, but that doesn't affect my decision).

Abundant Life Day Book
The whole cover of the book is beautiful. It looks like tooled leather and has a little butterfly on the front and back. There is a paper cover on the bottom part of the book that is meant to be removed after purchase.
This devotional has over 365 days of readings taking you through the
scriptures helping you to experience God and His intentions for you.
I have been reading once daily from this Devotional Day Book and have great inspiration and peace to lead me through the each day. I plan to continue to read this devotion for the rest of this year and next year.
I like this book so much that I purchased two more to give as gifts to family member for Christmas.
So I guess it is apparent that I would definitely recommend this book.

I have to admit I chose this book purely because it was so beautiful! It was even more-so in real life. The hard cover was beautifully textured with a floral pattern and the green accents were gorgeous. It came with a lovely ribbon bookmark, and the pages inside were also beautiful.
I liked that the author pointed the reader directly to God's word in the introduction. I am not a big fan of devotionals, because they contain so little of God's Word, not nearly enough for the day. I did like that the excerpts related to the scripture given (I have seen many devotionals that were not at all related to the scripture for the day!).
I did not like that the author wrote from The Lord's perspective. It feels presumptuous to me, and I was not comfortable with that.

What a little gem!!
What a beautiful devotional! I love the design. The colors stand out so brightly. It is the perfect size to keep by your bedside. What do I love about it? Well, it is just as your being drenched in God's goodness. As you read the words for each day you find God's goodness and grace. Each page leads you in scripture and then a paragraph or so of words that encourage and uplift, just as if they were coming from God, pouring over your heart.
Read as you begin your day or as you end your busy day in a quiet moment with Christ. This little book is small enough to place at your desk at work each day or in your backpack for a few moments away to catch a glimpse of God's purpose. At the end of the page is a prayer. It all comes together so sweetly.
I am a fan of devotionals and this one is at the top of my list. This would make a great gift or just a sweet addition to your own collection of reads as you walk in faith each day.
