Good readings, Would make a lovely gift!
September 7, 2011
It's hard to have confidence in someone that you don't know. That's why women who desire to live a confident, Christian life must draw near to the God they believe in. In A Woman's Walk in Truth: Devotions for Living a Confident Faith, Vonette Bright offers short, uplifting devotional readings for any woman who desires to grow in her faith. Stories, Scriptures, and commentaries provide insights for experiencing God's truths and a deeper relationship with Him.
I think A Woman's Walk in Truth: Devotions for Living a Confident Faith by Vonette Bright is the perfect little gift book for sisters, mothers, friends, etc. The front cover is attractive and the book addresses such a wide range of topics that anyone can benefit from using it. Personally, I prefer to read longer devotions each day, but these short ones are certainly handy on extra busy days. Each devotional reading is Biblically-based and supplemented by Scripture verses and "This I Believe" affirmative statements.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."
This Book was suppled to me by Harvest House Publishers for a review in return.
In good times and bad, God is with you. vonette Bright, cofounderk of Campus Crusade for; Christ, offers over 200 inspiring 5-minute devotions that explore God's Word.
I want to thank Harvest House Publishers for sending me this book. I think that this book is such a good book on Devotions for living every day. It is such an inspirational book, not long in content at all. Everytime I would sit down and read this book, I could just feel Jesus right there with me talking to me through this book.
This book has a title of the devotion at the top of the page and I really liked that also. Then after the devotion was scripture verse(s) and then at the end Vonette would put a comment of what she believes and it just touched my heart and the holy spirit just touched my life. I love this book.
I really loved the devotion on the Prodigal Son so I thought I would quote the scripture and it is as follows:
"This Son of mine was dead and has now reutrned to life. He was lost and he is found". Luke 15:24.
The message that Vonette put at the bottomj of the devotion is: "The Loving Heart of God is eager to Restore Anyone.
I would suggest this book to my family and friends.
This small, yet thick book is filled with wonderful devotions for women. They are short, yet ever so sweetly inspiring and tied to the truth of Scripture. I really enjoyed the insightful thoughts and stories and the verse to meditate on. However, my favorite part was the ending thought of each day titled This I Believe. In one sentence, Vonette wraps the devotion up in a truth that will stick with you.
I think this book makes a great mid-day treat to read a page while eating your lunch or waiting at an appointment. Any age woman will appreciate the devotionals and that makes it a perfect gift for any occasion! Bring a smile to a friends day and give her a copy of A Woman's Walk In Truth.
In closing I want to issue a caution that this is indeed a devotional book which is meant for an appetizer, not your main dish. It is a great encouragement book, but in no way is it a Bible study.
