Tell us a little about yourself. Storytelling is a passion of mine. I've always enjoyed being able to create and share dreams, adventures, emotions, feelings, a world with other people. I think the brain trust behind most writers is their own feelings and emotions. The words they use, the reason they use them--it's part of their core. Writing is a vulerable thing when you break it down.
What was your motivation behind this project? I've always loved the American Civil War. I found most stories though to be sensational or more fiction than history. Or to be even more direct: more "Historical fiction". History was painted as perception rather than reality.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope people enjoy reading an adventure, because that was my point. I didn't write "A Twilight in the Morning" hoping people would come away better educated or learned, or thinking they just read some great moral truth. I just want them to like the story.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Charles Dickens hands-down. He was a master craftsman with his words, narrative, dialogue, and ability to make you not only think, but think as the character. Most authors I find today are good at making us FEEL like the character, but what about thinking? That takes a three-dimensional story and makes it four. You suddenly ARE David Copperfield, Barbaby Rudge, Ebenezer Scrooge. Other influences include Horatio Alger, Stephen Mansfield, J. Steven Wilkins, & Jack Cavanaugh. Favorite fiction includes: Ben-Hur, A Christmas Carol, A Tale of Two Cities, David Copperfield, Johnny Tremain, The Bronze Bow, Iron Scouts of the Confederacy, and Hero.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Avid fan of baseball. Music background with composition and conduting. A film producer at Utmost-Highest Media
