A Step In Faith, DVD
Great Beginners Workout DVD!
I just turned 49, and the past couple years I've noticed cellulite and lumps where there didn't used to be any! After researching the best way to tone up, I found that a combo of both cardio + weight training is most effective. This DVD by Shelley Wink does both. She is very sweet, supportive, and encouraging, and I never feel like it's been 30 min. by the time I'm done--but I feel great!! I don't have a step (but you don't need one), and her DVD is split in two sections so that you can do either cardio or body sculpting. I've always done the entire thing & felt I could do even more. I truly appreciate that this obviously gorgeous woman is humble & not arrogant (or a drill-seargent), she doesn't show off her body, she encourages us all to just love ourselves no matter what our size, and she prays for us at the end--I love the prayer. I've already recommended it to another friend my age. If you don't feel like going to a gym, you're not used to working out, and you want to see results (I have already), plus feel good about yourself--I would highly recommend this DVD!

Shelly is a precious Christian woman... on the back of the cover (which looks a little homemade, but this makes up for it) she has written a very encouraging note to viewers... she has appropriate Bible verses on titles which appear periodically throughout the video... her voice and manner are gentle, unlike other obnoxious trainers... She prays over viewers at the end of the video Also, her dress is very conservative... she wears a somewhat loose-fitting tank top and cropped pants (about pedal pusher length). On another note, the music is non-lyrical, somewhere between rock and pop... it is not too loud, though. Upon purchasing the video, I was unaware that she used a step, although I gathered that she used one-pound weights. She says that you can use soup cans for the weights,(I have used both weights and cans, and both work well) and you can do the stepping on the floor without a step. I do not have a step; I just use the floor, and I believe I get the same quality of exercise. I found it to be lower intensity than I had thought... I assume that is because it is only 30 min. long. There are two segments, one of stretching and stepping with and without weights, and with the step (cardiovascular conditioning) and one of basic strength-training exercises with and without weights and step(body sculpting)I found this product to be pleasing and helpful... uplifting, a good basic workout, not too tough (easy to use every day)... I recommend it!
