Located in: Trenton, SC Submitted: March 27, 2006 Tell us a little about yourself. I am an Army chaplain with some 22 years of military service. I am also ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America and have begun to pastor a Church in Augusta, GA as I transition from the military back to civilian life. What was your motivation behind this project? I am not content simply to say that we have a values problem in America, I am trying to create tools to help us recapture a virtuous society. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Understanding that values are caught rather than taught, I am hoping to use the ancient tool of a catechism to communicate virtues in a question and answer format and then by using several other tools within the catechism, give the reader a full exposure to the meaning and the essence of the virtue being discussed. Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I am a big fan of almost anything that Ravi Zacharius puts on paper. I also read R.C. Sproul, D.A. Carson, David Wells, and Os Guinness. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: This book is best read and then passed on to an American citizen serving in any branch of the Armed Forces.
