It's always a joy to read one of Philip Yancey's books. While there were some incredibly good pages of enlightenment, it did take some time to get acclimated to its many transitions. The beginning chapters I felt were a bit choppy. But, once I hit that really good wave, I rode it out. It was well worth the wait lasting to the very shore. Yancey writes so eloquently of the "dual- citizenship" life of the believing Christian; living in both the seen and unseen world... the place where we abide when living in faith. When looking at our world in these times of suffering and injustice, I have to remind myself that this is not heaven, but earth; an imperfect earth. The chapter on the elephant man stands out as one of which could be read over and over again. Beautiful and an example of how Yancey explains the unseen. I was given this book and today passed it on to a good friend, knowing what a great read he will have. Note: this is not a book to be gulped, but rather sipped and slowly sipped. Also, note that it was previously titled "Rumors of Another World."
