Could you forgive someone who killed your child? Jeannie must, to preserve her family. Sisters Emma and Jeannie are best friends, and so are their teenage daughters Sadie and Tessa. But when a tragic accident results in Tess’s death—and Sadie is responsible—both families are devastated. Each sister must find a way from heartbreak and anguish to solace and forgiveness—but is there anything to be salvaged from a world that lies in ruins?

Sweetpea5 Stars Out Of 5A Sister's ForgivenessMay 29, 2015SweetpeaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I finished this book this morning at 1:30 a.m. I could hardly put it down once I began reading it. I don't know when I have ever been so moved by a book. It is a very touching story about a family -- all of whom were extremely close until the horrific accident shattered relationships. As the editorial review correctly states: "Schmidt's descriptions are so real and raw that you can empathize with the character's emotions." I highly recommend it, but keep your box of tissues beside you. You will definitely need them.
KimberlyAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Sister's ForgivenessMay 8, 2012KimberlyAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A Sister's Forgiveness is the second book in Anna's Women of Pinecraft trilogy. I began reading last night before bed and got sucked in. I stayed up until 5 am in order to finish the story in one sitting, because I HAD to know what happened next. It's amazing to see the far-reaching ripple effects of a single accident on both families involved, but also others in their community. I also learned more about some of the differences among Mennonite groups. One of Anna's greatest strengths as a writer is her ability to pull you into the relationships among her characters. I wish I could give this story more than 5 stars...
