I like that it has short chapters
I love the story line. It was easy to follow the characters. I especially love that they are Christian based with no bad language.

Very touching story
This story is set in times of almost a hundred years ago but it addresses issues of today. It held my attention making it hard to put down. I highly recommend to anyone who likes good christian fiction.

A powerful story of a fractured childhood.
This is the story of a young runaway ending up in a loving Mennonite family. She has problems accepting their love, faith and actions. She is afraid to trust anyone, even her brother seems to have abandoned her. This is the story of how she adjusts and is able to find happiness.

THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!
This is a beautifully written, completely satisfying, and intensely inspirational book. I'd read only a couple of chapters when I didn't want to lay it down--I really wanted to know what happened to this very unfortunate young woman! The family she encounters in Mountain Lake in a most unusual manner is really delightful. Adam is a very loving, caring young man--a worthy example of a believer--who never lets us down, even when he is doing some suffering of his own. All the characters are memorable. This book provides a rich reading experience for anyone, not only for readers in Minnesota (as I am). I only wish I didn't have to wait until June for the next book in the trilogy! I'm so glad it's about Samantha's brother.
