Author shares much about her own faith walk. Would recommend any church to use as an outreach tool, especially as a love gift for a death in the church family.

Tell us a little about yourself. Became a widow at the age of 50. I have one son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. God brought another wonderful husband to me in 2008 and we were married in just three months. I am retiring in August 2009 and waiting to see what door God will open for us.
What was your motivation behind this project? Prompted by the urging of the Lord, I longed to share the story of my life-long faith walk to illustrate God's promise of bringing blessings out or our disappointments or tragedies.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? God offers encouragement to seek Him and to allow Him to heal the hurts we experience throughout our living. I encourage others to trust Him as I have. He never fails. When your plans go "up in smoke," there is a "rose among the ashes."
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I learned more about my own faith. I realized the importance of waiting on God and His perfect will. Writing this book helped me to work through the grief of my husband's death and it moved me to a higher level in my relationship with God.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I have been privileged to meet my favorite Christian fiction authors, Karen Kingsbury and Terri Blackstock. My greatest source of inspiration will always be...my Heavenly Father.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: "A Rose Among the Ashes" is a simple story in three sections...the hearth of my heart, ashes, and roses. God is an integral part of each.
