In this eloquent account of her current struggle with physical pain, Joni Eareckson Tada offers her perspective on divine healing, Gods purposes, and what it means to live with joy.
Over four decades ago, a diving accident left Joni a quadriplegic. Today, she faces a new battle: unrelenting pain. The ongoing urgency of this season in her life has caused Joni to return to foundational questions about suffering and Gods will.
A Place of Healing is not an ivory-tower treatise on suffering. Its an intimate look into the life of a mature woman of God. Whether readers are enduring physical pain, financial loss, or relational grief, Joni invites them to process their suffering with her. Together, they will navigate the distance between Gods magnificent yes and heartbreaking noand find new hope for thriving in-between.
Joni Eareckson Tada is the president of Joni and Friends, an organization accelerating Christian outreach in the disability community. An acclaimed artist and the author of nearly fifty books, Joni lives with her husband in Southern California.
To read Jonis book, A Place of Healing, is like being engaged in a delightful personal conversation with her. She is honest, bubbly, Biblical, sagacious, and devoted to God and His truth. Joni shows us Jesus like few people can and encourages us in our response to Him regardless of our circumstances. - R. C. Sproul, Chairman and President of Ligonier Ministries; Senior Minister of Saint Andrews

NonnieComanche, TxAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A great read to find encouragement.July 31, 2012NonnieComanche, TxAge: 55-65Gender: femaleAs a Christian with family members in need of physical healing this book offered real food for thought. The conviction of Joni that our suffering has a purpose and sometimes is to encourage others more than ourselves truly moved my heart. After a read like this one I can continue in my prayer life believing that God is answering in ways I cannot imagine. When Joni tells how her suffering has brought others to Christ my heart is humbled and I move on knowing God is in this regardless of what I see before my eyes. It was an encouragement. To see her heart and dedication to bring others to Christ fuels my heart!
