When Grace Livingston HillâÂÂs first husband died he left her with two young daughters to raise. In an effort to support her family she turned to writing. However, Ms. Hill just didnâÂÂt want to write anything she wanted to write stories of faith. Originally written in 1926 âÂÂA New Nameâ is a wonderful story of how God can take our disasters and use them for our benefit and growth. Murray is an example of The Prodigal Son story from the Bible. Murray leaves with his heart in one condition but by the end of the book he is a changed man. Ms. Hill knows how to tell a great story and while it may be old it still is a powerful story.

A POWERFUL STORY OF TRANSFORMATION!
The only thing I find wrong with this book is its cover. It shouldn't have the picture of a young woman on it--it should feature the main character, Murray. I don't find the cause of his very difficult experiences unbelievable because while caring for my mother, I was seriously misled by the incorrect words of a nurse. There are some truly beautiful persons in this story: the lovely woman with whom Murray stays in his new surroundings; the woman who knows something is wrong, but doesn't betray Murray; the pastor; Murray's girlfriend; his father; among others. But Murray's experience of conversion and what follows is the highlight here, and I won't forget the powerful blessing that resulted for me!
