In addition to the revisions and contributions from new coauthor Jason DeRouchie, the book now includes the answer key for an all-new companion workbook, an updated vocabulary list for second year Hebrew courses, and a DVD that contains PowerPoint teaching helps as well as vocabulary audio files.
Duane A. Garrett is the John R. Sampey Professor of Old Testament at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He also served as general editor for the Archaeological Study Bible.
Jason S. DeRouchie is an active writer and editor as well as assistant professor of Old Testament Studies at Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Kevin Hatley5 Stars Out Of 5March 19, 2010Kevin HatleyThis is an excellent resource for any beginning and review for those who are already familiar with the language. There are several possible ways to use the book, which makes this an even better resource. The material starts with the basics and introduces the vocabulary very early. The table format of the samples and rules is also very helpful. The coverage of a complete first year of Hebrew is covered in detail without the overweight of the formals. The vocabulary is also very helpful, not only for familiarization but for rapid reading. The additional CD also helps in learning pronunciation effectively, although having a native speaker available is much better. The flash cards and other material on the CD is also very useful. Overall, this is an excellent resource.
