Zayne has no desire to be taken anywhere and is prepared to drag his heels all the way home... until he finds himself slipping back into the familiar banter of his former friendship with Agatha. Once they arrive in New York, Zayne realizes Agatha's determined nose for news has earned her a few enemies, and he hopes to repay her help with some help of his own. When she rebuffs all his attempts to prove himself a knight in shining armor, the lengths to which they'll go to win this battle of wills lead to some memorable antics.
Everyone else may think them a match, but nothing could be further from the truth--until Agatha finds herself in real trouble. Have these two stubborn, too-smart-for-their-own-good people been meant for each other all along?

It is a funny, light read that keeps you entertained. There is a pig that does not want to be called a P-I-G, trouble around every corner and a romance included. Jen Turano is known for her quirky , fun stories and she does not disappoint. I continue to look forward to reading her work.
I recieved this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

I appreciated the pig Matilda and some of the funny lines that would unexpectantly crop up between characters, but there didnt seem to be a lot of action to the story. I realize it is a romance mainly between Agatha and Zayne, but outside of them there were parts without much to keep me glued to the pages.
Both Agatha and Zayne appeared self-centered and perhaps that was the authors intent to have readers come away disliking that character trait. I wonder too how a female author can write about the internal thoughts and struggles of a male character and while not always completing the thoughts in the novel, the audience couldnt help but complete them. Brothels could have been shown more for the disgusting and oppressive businesses that they are instead of seeming to be acceptable in the book.
All reviews no matter who writes them are subjective in nature. Some loved this book and others not quite so much. While I appreciate the opportunity to read another novel, it just seemed to lack the adventure and intensity that I want to captivate my attention when I open a book. I loved the humorous parts because I love to laugh and would rate the book higher if there was more adventure than there seemed to be.
I hope the author keeps writing, but adds more action, adventure and intensity in her future novels.

I laughed throughout the book and was reminded why I love to read books by Jen Turano. All of her books are so much fun and A Match of Wits is no exception. Great fun, great laughs, great romance, and great mystery, suspense and action. What do you want from a book?

Tammy Sotela5 Stars Out Of 5Delightful ReadSeptember 14, 2014Tammy SotelaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Jen Turano has done it once again. A Match of Wits is a delightful book which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have loved the characters in all of her books so far and was glad we finally got to Agatha's story. An unexpected star in the book is Matilda. She is a perfect friend for someone like Agatha. I can't wait to see what Jen writes next! I received this book from Bethany House through bookfun.org for my honest opinion.
Robin Willson5 Stars Out Of 5Sit back, unwind and be completely entertained!September 13, 2014Robin WillsonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The fourth in the Ladies of Distinction series, another hit by Jen Turano. If you've read the previous books, you'll be used to the non-stop antics of the characters you've glimpsed before, each as endearing as the other. There's a mystery to be solved, by a Gilded Age lady of society - big hearted, clutsy and beautiful. And of course it wouldn't be a romance without a handsome gentleman from the same society and family connections, who is of course highly successful as well as daft when it comes to women and somewhat mixed up with his life. Oh yes, and this story includes a brilliant pig!
The completely delightful style of Jen Turano is a pleasure to read. Never a dull moment, frantically paced and also Christian, with lessons interspersed. Sit back, unwind and be completely entertained!
