Ross, our hero, has experienced a loss, as he had to close his photography studio due to the economy. Grandma hires Ross to manage the book store so Adrie can pursue her dream of playing her flute professionally. As in Ms. Turansky's other book set in Fairhaven, Seeking His Love, the characters are well-developed and are realistic, the story develops naturally and comfortably, with enough snags in the relationship to keep your interest. A Man to Trust is a delightful afternoon read.

Grandma hires a new manager so Adrie can be free to pursue her dreams, however, Adrie isn't certain Ross Peterson fits the role. The handsome photographer seems to charm everyone but Adrie. Or is she holding herself aloof because her ex-fiancé dumped her for another woman?
Adrie and Ross assist with the wedding of mutual friends, which adds to Adrie's growing attraction for the eligible bachelor and to her confusion. Besides, she plans to leave Washington when she lands a position with an orchestra so she doesn't want to get involved. Her grandma has no hesitation in the romance department when an old flame comes to town. What does the future hold for both couples?
Caring and sacrifice play a big part in this sweet story. It's real life material with an endearing ending that brought unexpected tears. As the title implies, Adrie discovers A Man to Trust. Carrie Turansky pens a fine read containing enough struggles and successes between the covers to keep the reading turning the pages with satisfaction.
An added pleasure for me was the book's Pacific Northwest setting (I'm from the Northwest) and the bookstore (I love books and bookstores and used to work in one). Also the fact she grew up on the mission field in Kenya since I know missionaries who have served there. Get this brand-new release while it's available.
GingerS2194 Stars Out Of 5a GREAT Sunday afternoon readFebruary 20, 2012GingerS219Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A photographer and a flutist thrown together at, of all places, a book store. As we look in on Adrie and Ross, we see two people struggling with past mistakes, and the future they see for themselves. Neither are looking for love, but love finds them. In true Love Inspired fashion, Carrie Turansky takes us to the town of Fairhaven where love blooms between the unsuspecting as God looks on, laughing at the struggles humans put themselves through.
Ms. Turansky's excellent writing and storytelling draw the reader into the lives of Adrie and Ross. In the end we understand what true love is all about, sacrificing one's self for the good of the one you love. This is a great Sunday afternoon getaway.

MaherBreesport, NYAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I just got done reading Carrie Turansky's newest contemporary romance A Man to Trust. It is rare for me to finish a book in under two weeks, but this one kept me turning the pages to that final sweet happily ever after in just a few days.
Adrie Chandler plans to leave her job in Fairhaven, Washington at her Nana's bookstore behind to pursue her dream. An accomplished flutist, she has prepared all her life for a seat in a professional orchestra. All she needs is a reliable, trustworthy man to assume her place as manager. But men haven't been exactly trustworthy in her experience. Fresh on the rebound from her ex-fiance's betrayal with her best friend, Adrie must train a handsome and charming young man to take her place at the store. But she fears he's a little too charming to be sincere.
Ross Peterson needs a job--badly. His photo studio business has recently failed, and his bills are amassing. Worse, his father's critical eye watches all he does, weighing him according to his net worth. The job at the bookstore is the stepping stone he needs until he can reopen his studio when the economy is on the upswing. He doesn't reckon on the influence his beautiful new boss will have on him, or his desire to please her. But will his desire to prove himself a man to be trusted prevent him from pursuing his dream?
I enjoyed the chemistry of the characters in this story. An outgoing, flirtatious, masculine man like Ross was a perfect fit for introverted, wounded, reticent Adrie. She longs for family, but hers resides in Africa where she was raised by missionary parents. Lonely, her best friends include her Nana and the older ladies in her Nana's social circle. Ross's persistent cheer and lighthearted humor wear down her resistance until she can't deny her attraction, but will it lead her down the path to betrayal, heartache, and the postponement of her plans once more?
This sweet story was written with a deep insight into emotional wounds and yet with an affectionate romance and an abiding faith that offers the reader hope for their own happily ever after. If you want your faith restored in the power of love, you need to let this story soak in and you'll believe again.

Tell us a little about yourself. I'm very grateful for the opportunities I've had to see my stories published. I have written nine novels and novellas and been a finalist and winner of several awards including the ACFW Carol and Inspirational Readers' Choice Awards. I believe in the power of stories, and I love to challenge and encourage readers in their walk with the Lord through my novels.
What was your motivation behind this project? A Man To Trust is the second novel set in Fairhaven, Washington, and it includes a continuing cast of secondary characters called the Bayside Treasures. These senior-age friends are matchmakers for the younger generation of friends and family in each story. I love to bring to life a small-town cast of characters for my readers to enjoy.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope readers will think about the journey my hero and heroine make as they look for God's will for their lives and explore how to best use their gifts and talents.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Each book I write makes me think more deeply about my relationship with God and how His wisdom can be applied to life. In this story I explored where we find our true value and how should we use our God-given talents. That helped me better clarify these own issues for myself.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I am blessed to be involved in American Christian Fiction Writers where I've gotten to know many wonderful writers. My critique partners Susan Page Davis and Vickie McDonough have been a great inspiration to me. My local writing friends, Cathy Gohlke and Terri Gillespie have also been so helpful and encouraging. The inspire me and spur me on.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I hope readers will be captivated by the story and characters and enjoy this second trip to Fairhaven. For more info on my books and to sign up for my email newsletter please stop by my website. Thanks and happy reading!
