A Home in Drayton Valley
'A Home in Drayton Valley' is full of incredibly deep, likable characters:
Mary - ever devoted wife and mother struck down by a terminal illness, with dreams of a better life for her little family, whether she sees it or not.
Tarsie - amazingly dedicated friend who pledges to care for Mary's children, and husband, after Mary's death. She is determined to honor her pledge to Mary and to God, no matter what.
Joss - Mary's hard-hearted, gambling, drinking husband who knows he's turning out just like the father he hated, but cant seem to help himself, even though his love for Mary is so sincere.
Simon and Ruth - these two really make the story, with their wisdom and maturity, and their love for God. Simon shows Joss how to love his children, while Ruth reminds us all of the privilege it is to read God's Word.
Together, these five wonderful people touched my life and made me sad when the book was over. I love Kim Vogel Sawyer's writing style and 'A Home in Drayton Valley' was one of her best.

This is a delightful fiction read. Themes include grief and unconditional love. It is unconditional love that points the main character Joss to His Savior, the Healer.
