Great debut novel!
This book is not just a feel good romance. It deals with a lot of issues we are all familiar with: guilt, regret, forgiveness, loneliness, and starting over. Georgiana unwraps the truth of whatâÂÂs caused the hurts in Robin WarnerâÂÂs life layer by layer. She leaves you wondering if these issues will ever be resolved. Caleb Sloane has major issues of his own and when Robin begins to share with him details of her life, he pulls away from her because of his own guilty feelings. ItâÂÂs a classic scenario but not as predictable as you might think. Georgiana knows how to weave a tale. She writes believable characters and her settings are great! I was hanging on until the very end not 100% sure it was going to end the way I hoped it would. I recommend this story!

Not Your Typical Romance Novel!
While this is categorized as a romance novel, the storyline and characters were very much grounded in reality. Every event, every plot twist, every emotion was something that I could relate to through events in my own life.
Robyn Warner inherits a rundown property from her estranged father after he passes away. She struggles with mixed emotions about his death because she'd never had the chance to make things right in their relationship, as well as with her brother and sister. Guilt overwhelms her as revisits the home of her youth and takes on the responsibility of restoring the property in order to sell.
Caleb Sloane is a police officer, wrestling with his own guilt. He holds himself responsible for the death of Robyn's father and while under investigation in his police department decides to do something to alleviate his struggle by taking it upon himself to fix up the property Robyn inherited.
Robyn is unaware of Caleb's role in her father's passing and looks to him for friendship and guidance as they work side by side. Feelings begin to develop between the two, even though Caleb fights against them as much as he can muster. What will happen when the truth finally comes to light? Will Robyn restore her place in her family? Can she forgive herself for not settling things with her father before he died?
This story unfolds piece by piece, drawing the reader in and keeping them captivated by each turn of events. Even if you are the romance novel type, I recommend giving this one a try!

Trying To Belong
Robyn Warner was estranged from her Dad and was surprised that he left her his resort in Pine Hollow. When she arrives she is bewildered to see how run down it was. Her Dad had died suddenly, and she was never able to set things right with him and her half brother and sister.
Working on the repairs when she arrives is Caleb Sloane, and she figures he has been hired by the estate to get the property ready. She begins to work along side of Caleb, and finds a big attraction to him. He is so kind and looks out for her, but he is hiding a big secret.
What will Robyn do when she finds out who Caleb really is? Will Brad her brother, and her sister Abby, be able to gain control of the property?
We find that her Dad was a Christian before he died, Robyn is and so is Caleb. Will they be able to forgive? Will the whole town recognize what a gem they really have in Caleb?
Be ready for some loving relationships and a bit of romance, along with the help of God.

Enjoyable, tension-filled read
"A Daughter's Redemption" is a Christian romance novel. To clarify the book description, Caleb did not directly kill Robyn's father. He was a cop trying to pull over a young man that had driven through a red light and was thought to be drunk. Instead of stopping, the young man sped off and hit Robyn's father. Since the department had a "no-pursuit" policy, some people in town also blamed Caleb for the accident.
The characters were engaging and reacted to events in realistic ways. I liked how Robyn tried to live out her Christian faith in her behavior, like forgiving wrongs done to her even though it wasn't always easy to do so. Her guilt over not fixing things with her dad when she still could was making her angry at those who took that chance away from her. Feelings of guilt in Robyn and Caleb and the anger that Robyn's half-siblings felt over her getting the resort created relationship tensions. Not to mention that Caleb might lose his job. I had a hard time putting the book down because I wasn't sure how all of these problems were going to play out.
My only confusion was why a relatively simple question--did Caleb violate department policy or not and was it justified if he did--was allowed to turn into a witch hunt where people known to hold a grudge against Caleb were a part of making this decision. Turning the question into a popularity contest did add tension to the story, but it decreased some of the sense of realism for me.
The Christian element was woven naturally into the story and was mainly Robyn's and Caleb's conviction that God must have a plan even though the circumstances seemed so out of their control. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable novel.
