from Day Hikes Around Missoula, Montana... "The headwaters of Mill Creek begin at Mill Lake, 11 miles from the trailhead at an elevation of 6,550 feet. The creek tumbles down the canyon in a continuous display of cascades, waterfalls, and pools. The Mill Creek Trail follows the rushing creek continuously to the lake, with soaring canyon walls towering over the trail. This hike includes the first three miles of the trail to a magnificent 60-foot waterfall and swimming hole at the base of the falls. Large boulders make perfect seats for viewing the falls and relaxing." (followed by driving and hiking directions, map)
