I bought this cd not too long after it came out. I really enjoyed some of the songs on it, some of them being more of my favorites as to others from their older cds. Overall I would've liked the cd if there hadn't been quite as many slower songs. I am glad I bought it though and will keep listening to the cd.

this album was a fairly big disappointment it seemed like skillet is going too mainstream, and not in a good way. songs like "Don't wake me" and "It's Not Me it's You" i found really cheesy. however "Hero" "Monster" and "Awake and Alive" are awesome songs and i always really enjoyed the lyrics in "Lucy" but overall kinda cheesy lyrics and too many slow songs

This is an amazing album. Period. Hands down. Awesome. I've loved Skillet ever since Comatose came out, and in my opinion, this album is a little better. Skillet rocks with this album! Must buy!

I love this hard rocking CD! The song "Hero" is my favorite, and I really like the lyrics throughout this CD.

After being a big Skillet fan for several years, I was really looking forward to the release of Awake. Overall it's a pretty good album, but probably they're worst. First of all, they have been really creative with all of they're previous album's by having a slightly different sound on each of them, but Awake has basically the same sound as Comatose. Second, a lot of the songs are pretty much watered down versions of the songs on Comatose. Third, I highly disliked the songs, It's not me it's you, and Should've when you could've, which are basically hate/breakup songs, not too uplifting. Fourth, there are WAY too many lighter songs on here. I mean, Skillet has always been known for they're hard rockin' music, and here not even half the songs can be called that! So, I might be hard on it, and there are some songs that I REALLY like, such as Hero, Monster, Awake and Alive, and Sometimes, but I was kind of dissapointed with the rest of it. So sorry for going on so long, but thats how I feel. If you do get this cd, I would highly recommend getting the deluxe edition which has two GREAT bonus songs on it, but otherwise I think you would be much better off with Comatose, Collide, or even Alien Youth.

This cd is pretty great "Hero and Monster" are probably the hardest hitting songs on the cd. I love the songs like "Never Surrender" "One Day to Late" "Would it Matter" (my all time fave). These songs offer great lyrics and music that might "slow" for some but the lyrics grab me. If you've ever gone through some similar experiences you'll know what I'm talking about when you read the lyrics and listen to the song. Songs like "Lucy" "Believe" and "Should've When you Could've" and "Its not me its you" (not as bad as others) are not my faves. These songs are more your power ballads that aren't much to me. They seem like your typical relationship songs that for me just sort of are blah. The songs I love make it all the more worth it. This cd is a little different but worth it for some good songs. Still awesome can't wait to see them again in concert!
