A wonderful, practical book with sound advice that can be applied to traditional families as well as step-families. It has definitely made me aware of some challenges that step-families face that I hadn't previously considered. I would recommend this book to anyone considering remarriage with children!

As a step-mother of six (ages 5-18) I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is even considering marriage. Given the heartbreaking statistics of divorce in this country the chances that one might become part of a blended family are so much greater. Also, as a small group leader at my church, I feel that it would be a great ministry tool for the unique family situations we find in our churches today.

Tell us a little about yourself. I am President of Successful Stepfamilies and specialize in family ministry to stepfamilies.
What was your motivation behind this project? After working in family ministry for many years, I noticed that stepfamilies were neglected by most marriage and family education programs. We started a local ministry that soon became in high demand around the country. That ministry has now given birth to multiple books, a DVD curriculum, conferences nationwide, and the largest Web page in the world for Christian stepfamilies. We simply want to prevent redivorce and help the church to become relevant to stepfamilies.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Practical guidance, understanding, and hope. Also, I pray ministry leaders will learn how they can better minister and equip stepfamilies.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? It has changed my life. This is the first practical resource our ministry created and is now the backbone of our message. It is crucial that couples and churches understand how stepfamilies are different.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Too many to mention. God has used so many to encourage, challenge, and teach me. I'm thankful for all of them!
