The Left Behind® books by Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins have been incredibly popular. They have both raised and answered many questions for millions of readers. In response to the questions raised by the series, LaHaye and Jenkins have compiled Are We Living in the End Times, a collection of their reasons for believing that the Rapture and Tribulation could appear during the current generation.
Though they strongly acknowledge that there is no guarantee that Christ will return during this generation, there are at least twenty reasons why LaHaye and Jenkins think that this generation will witness the end of history. They begin with the context, looking at prophecy, what the end times mean, whether current events are the times of the signs, the sign of Jesus' coming, and the role of Israel and Jerusalem. Then they look at particular events including the great apostasy, blooming in the desert, the sneak attack, the Rapture, the rebuilding of the temple, the rise and fall of Babylon, the Tribulation, the second coming, the millennium, the judgment throne, and eternal life. Then they turn their attention on personalities like Satan, the antichrist, the false prophet, the two witnesses, the 144,000 Jewish witnesses, the saints and martyrs from the Tribulation, the unredeemed, and the angels.
All told, LaHaye and Jenkins cover all the signs of the end, all the major players, and all the major events which will take place at the end. They offer a fairly compelling argument for the timeline used in the Left Behind® series, using both Scripture and current events. Ultimately, this book will motivate you to holy living, challenge you to greater evangelism, and help you become more missionary minded. Because, after all, if we are in the end times, we only have a short time to tell as many people as possible about the good news of Jesus.

Its a fact: 27 percent of the Bible is devoted to prophecy. But most of us dont focus 27 percent of our personal Bible study on prophecy. Why? Were confused. Or intimidated. Or both. This book takes away a lot of the mystery--and all of the intimidation. From the creators of the Left Behind series--Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins--comes a truly astonishing book. User-friendly for the layperson. Remarkably complete for the scholar.

Reviewed by MJ (Maine), March 19, 2001 This was a very good book. It explains the book of Revelation in simple terms and is very informative about the End Times and why the authors think we may be in the End Times. The authors do not try to set dates for anything, which is good because the Bible says no person knows the day or time. If you are looking to learn more about the End Times, this is the book for you.
