Well, this album is nowhere near as good as Cities and Never Take Friendship Personal. I liked some of the songs, but the vocals seemed off on many of the tracks. I KNOW Anberlin can do better. They are one of my favorite bands, so I hope the next album is more like their previous albums.

This is a very good CD. I listen to it everyday. Great vocals on every song. My favorite song is Retrace. It is a must for any rock fan.

Anberlin is back with their 4th release, and their first release under mainstream label Universal Republic. Unlike many bands in their situation, Anberlin has not sold out on quality because of the change to a mainstream label. And contrary to what many would expect, their spiritual content does not decrease, and arguably, it has increased this album slightly.
The album opens as the have, with a rip roaring rocker that gets you up and moving. It's similar to "Godspeed" from Cities. Following are the catchy "Breaking" and "Blame Me, Blame Me!"
Softer songs like "Retrace" and "Breathe" are upbeat and energetic. It's apparent that this album is more upbeat than their "Cities" was, although "Cities" is still arguably Anberlin's best.
The album's first single, "Feel Good Drag" is a remake of their song from album 2, "Never Take Friendship Personal." I think the new version sounds better. Another surefire hit is the rocking "Disappear."
"Soft Skeletons" is a dark song by Anberlin but done in a very enjoyable way. And as has become an Anberlin custom, the album closes with a 6+ minute epic. Like "(*Fin)" before it, "Miserabile Visu (Ex Malo Bonum)" takes a bit to speed up, but the reward when it does is well worth it. While it doesn't soar to the heights it's predecessor epic closer did, it is still epic and very enjoyable in its own right. Another memorable and enjoyable rock album from Anberlin, one of the best bands on the face of the industry.

This album is almost perfect, tracks like "The Resistance" and "Younglife" being my favorites. The old rendition of "Feel Good Drag" was better, but the new version is pretty good too. Not quite as good as NFTP, but excellent all the same.

Just like the previous albums, anberlin never fails, catchy tunes with great lyrics. This new album is great with a diffrent style than cities but really inspiring with songs like Breathe that can put you to sleep knowing that everything is gonna be fine. Just a great album that you should buy.
