Monk & Neagle's return to the studio once again finds the duo working with producer Ed Cash, pairing their intimate compostions about love and devotion with an adult contemporary acoustic pop style. The Twenty-First Time includes a reprise of "Stars Would Fall," plus nine fresh originals and a bonus remix ("What Soldiers Do.")
Rating:

Relationships are key on the second major label project from singer/ songwriter duo Monk & Neagle. Now landing at Reunion Records after Provident Music Group purchased Flicker, the duo releases
The Twenty-First Time, a project full of interpersonal narratives on a backdrop of memorable acoustic pop produced by Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Bethany Dillon). The centerpiece of the stories is the title track, placing a relatable focus on serving Christ by serving His children in need: “But what if it’s Jesus and I walk away?/I say I’m the body and drink of the wine/But I pretend not to see Him for
The Twenty-First Time.”
The artists pay tribute to their spouses with breezy love songs like “Yours Forever,” the Caribbean-flavored “Wonderful Angel” and the catchy opener, “Beautiful You,” a fun summertime treat. The crossover-worthy “Stars Would Fall,” which appeared on the group’s debut, makes another appearance here as well.
Other highlights include the simple but distinctive praise of “Hallelujah Jesus” and the poignant “What Soldiers Do,” which finds a father on the battlefront sending love and lessons to a son at home.
With a polished acoustic-driven sound and heartfelt lyrics,
The Twenty-First Time creates a nice blend of praise to the Father, love to family and encouragement to listeners.

Having just seen Trent Monk in concert in our church (Mr. Naegle's wife had JUST had a baby so he didn't come!) I can safely say that even on his own, Trent Monk deserves a five star rating. Our entire church was absolutely spellbound by his whimsical melodies, deeply loving and spiritual lyrics, and his funny yet reverent performance. He's also quite a character! and yet very humble. If you haven't bought this album, you owe it to your soul to do so!

Love this cd! We were so blessed to get to see Trent and Mike in concert last night. The entire family loved their music. I leaned down to ask my 5yr old son what he thought of the music. He smiled sweetly and asked me to please not talk to him till after the concert because he was trying to concentrate on the awesome guys on stage. We bought this CD and listened to it all the way home. In fact, we're listening to it right now. Great music, great guys, great buy!

The first cut on this album is without a doubt the most poetic version of who God is and the instrumental track is awesome. The voices of Trent & Michael are perfect together: I hope this song goes on to make the top twenty as "21st time" did. Beautiful you is my fav on CD. Other tracks are nearly as good!

Awesome, Wonderful, Amazing cd. What a tribute to Jesus, love & those serving our country. If you have a love one who is serving in Iraq or has served their country in the Arm forces, then "What Soliders do" is the song for you. I cry every time I hear it, bring back memories when my husband was over serving in Iraqi Freedom.
Thanks Monk & Neagle for a heart warming cd
