Fields of Grace finds Big Daddy Weave exploring new territory as first-time producers.Their sophmore release is "a little closer to capturing what you would hear when we play live. It's a little edgier maybe, but we like it a whole lot," states Mike Weaver. "I think lyrically we have stayed true to where we've always come from. When we write songs, the lyrics are all about our own personal journeys with God."

This is a great CD. I love all the songs on it. The lyrics to the songs are full of meaning on different levels.

I guess it was my fault for ordering this CD without yet being a fan, but i first heard this group on a WOW Christmas CD and totally loved how they redid "Go Tell It On The Mountain" It is totally and amazingly done!! However I was not really satisfied with this CD. What a bummer!! It did not have the same feel and grove of that WOW Christmas song.....very sad!! This is one of their first disks, so for most artists it is their best. I don't' think I will ever buy another Big Daddy Weave CD...even my kids hated it and they totally loved "Go Tell It On The Mountain"....if they don't like it, it is pretty sad!! Everyone however does have their own taste.

I first heard of Big Daddy Weave on You Tube after watching the video of their song "Completely Free" which is on this CD. I was so moved, I bought the sheet music to learn the song for my Sunday School class and eventually bought this and a companion CD by Big Daddy Weave.
I must say I was disappointed after hearing the other material on the CD. "Completely Free" is a masterpiece of a song. Nothing else on the CD comes close to the majesty of that song.
Their songs (with the exception of "Completely Free") just sound twangy, bland, and heavy-handed. But I'm not a rock fan; I'm an R&B fan. My main love is Gospel.

If you fell in love with BDW's radio hit "Fields of Grace", this CD tops it with 10 other songs that are so much fun with their saxophone, acoustic, and mixed beat ensemble. This CD has helped me so much, and trust me, the lyrics, no matter how much you think they won't "stick" with you: they will. One of my favorites is #5, #6 (fun to play- guitar), and #10. If you need a "super-sizer CD" (really AWESOME CD) to pump up your day with a smile; buy it, it will be well played.

This is a truly great CD! I was so happy when I won it along with the Warren Barfield ST and Ready to Fly by FFH and got to go to the ready to Fly tour last night! They are really great!
