Timelines are a wonderful way to see all history at a glance! They help visualize the procession of time and how one event spurts on another. They also help you see history by the slice - what was happening at various places in the world at the same time. Timelines help the most visual of learner grasp the abstract idea of "time" in a hands-on way.
Your kinesthetic learner will benefit from the cutting and coloring of figures. They are wonderful for the auditory learner as each figure has a descriptive text to remember key points of each person or event. Best of all, they inspire a love of learning about the people and events that made a mark in the world, reinforcing that knowledge by taking part in putting the "puzzle" of history together.

Since I am planning on homeschooling for the long run, I just ordered this set of timeline characters. It is so awesome. The flexibility of being able to size the jpegs to whatever space you need to fit them into is great. Plus you can have the info on the bottom telling about the character or not. This set is very cost effective. Amy's work is beautiful.

The figures are wonderful--therefore the high rating. However, if you are planning to use this in a school situation, or even a home school coop, be aware that in the fine print within the program itself allows extremely limited use in those situations, unless you contact Home School in the Woods and pay for a school license. If you want it just for your homeschooling family, it's a great buy. If you want it for other purposes, you may want to contact Home School in the Woods first.
