Our biggest concern with the Atlas is that in the back under Index of Maps when a page is indicated for a map of a town, there is no map on the page noted. I had hoped to get an Atlas that would give me a map for every location noted in Scripture. Otherwise it is a very informative Atlas.

I am only about half way through the atlas but so far it has been very interesting. Even better than I hoped it would be.

Per the Author's Preface "...this Atlas is written for the interested lay person and/or beginning level student of the Bible in colleges and seminaries." To that extent it fulfills the author's intent; if you are looking for more you will have to look elsewhere. The maps are often too small. Special maps show topography but are too small to be really helpful. The color maps, photos, and charts are helpful. I think more could have been said about the various cities, such as their histories, why they were strategic, regional trade and international commerce, etc. For a beginner's level book this is good.

This is a great reference book for Biblical studies. It covers from general overview down to very detailed information. Suitable for both pastors and laymen.
