There is only good Christ-centered theology presented here. The negative review presented above indicates the book was not read or even investigated. The thing that sets off New Age alarmists is that there is a chapter on meditation--but it is about meditating on the Word of God and what it reveals through the Holy Spirit. Meditation here means thinking through and mentally digesting, not sitting in a lotus position and chanting, emptying the mind. It has to do with filling the heart, mind, and soul with the Word and discovering God's will in a Christ-centered life through prayer, and when necessary, fasting. Every follower of Chirst MUST meditate on His Word! This book will help you further digest his book, Celebration of Discipline. The truths Foster presents in that book are completely Biblically-based, never taken out of context with twisted meaning. It helped me see how much I was missing by failing to allow humility and simplicity in my life, and it began me down a path of learning the power of prayer and fasting--for no other purpose than God's will be done.

I cannot comprehend how any Christian could find this workbook new age... it is a fabulous tool that will convict, challenge and renew your faith. I have been a Christian for 25 years and I dare you to read the book and complete the study guide and not find yourself on a journey of spiritual growth!
