Omartian, a survivor of child abuse, brings a powerful message of hope and healing to all who seek deliverance from depression and spiritual oppression. She shows you how prayer and encouragement from Scripture can help you come to terms with the past; how to maintain emotional wholeness; and how to receive God's gifts. 176 pages, softcover from Nelson.
When Stormie Omartian was a child, her mother would lock her in a closet and say, "You are worthless, and youll never amount to anything." How did a young girl who grew up in an abusive home learn to overcome her past pain to find emotional wholeness as an adult? Lord, I Want to Be Whole offers seven steps that helped Stormie overcome clinical depression and live a more fulfilling life. She shows readers how prayer and the encouragement of Scripture can help them come to terms with their past. She also tells how to find deliverance from spiritual oppression and negative influences, learn to receive Gods gifts and believe the good things God says about us, become aware of deceptions and misconceptions, and maintain emotional health by taking care of our bodies and being sensitive to what is happening inside us. Lord, I Want to Be Who helps those who are troubled by depression find emotional wholeness and become all God made them to be

This book is an excellent tool to help women who are struggling to find their purpose as a woman of God. After losing my first husband at a young age, I felt I had lost my purpose. This book showed me that I might have lost my earthly mate, but the love of my life should be Christ and that no relationship on earth is as important. I now use this book in my ministry to give to wounded hearts that God brings into our bed and breakfast and into my life. Thank you Ms. Omartian for being used of God!

This book has made such an impact in my life that I am actually using it in our women's bible study group. It has proven to be an excellent aid to help women deal with those deep issues that many churches never really venture into. It causes you to take your relationship with Christ beyond the "just church as usual" state. If you are seeking true deliverance and wholeness in your life and you want to now become the "new creature" that you are to be in Christ, you MUST add this book to your library. I am grateful for Mrs. Omartian's honesty in sharing her life with others. You are truly being used of God to bless the women of our ministry.

"And the truth shall set you free!" I read this book when it was titled "A Step In The Right Direction" and have been reading her other books ever since. "Lord, I Want To Be Whole" bears God's truth and He has promises that "His Truth shall set us free". Stormie Omartian demonstrates and writes that we must lay a strong foundation filled with His truth, love and grace if we ever want to succeed in the Christian life! Life's storms are inevitable, but God's Presence and Word are here to stay! I highly recommend this book to every believer--especially new Christians stumbling in his/her walk with God.

Stormie O'martian is right on target. Always scripture-based, she has struck a balance of humility before God and confidence as a redeemed person.
I'm a very picky, intellectual reader, and I LOVED her simple, down-to-earth and always on target writing.
