This book is not intended for scholars or experts but rather for those who may wish to learn more about Augustine's reflections on the Christian life, so they can continue to grow in their faith and love of God. The first chapter attempts to bring the reader to a better understanding of Augustine himeself--the man, the monk, and the bishop--in the surroundings that influenced him so deeply.
