Grace is the church's great distinctive. It's the one thing the world cannot duplicate, and the one thing it craves above all else for only grace can bring hope and transformation to a jaded world.
In What's So Amazing About Grace?, award-winning author Philip Yancey explores grace at street level. What is grace? If grace is God's love for the undeserving, then what does it look like in action? If Christians are its sole dispensers, how are we doing at lavishing grace on a world that knows far more of cruelty and unforgiveness than it does of mercy? In his most personal and provocative book ever, Yancey offers compelling, true portraits of grace's life-changing power. He searches for its presence in his own life and in the church. He challenges us to become living answers to a world that desperately wants to know What's So Amazing About Grace?

Simply an awesome book, a must read for every Christian. I found it life altering. Everyone that I have run into that has read it had nothing but good to speak of it also.

Love this book. My counselor recommended I read it to help with my self worth problem. I couldn't figure out why but then it all came together. I will read it over and over.

During Lent my church is studying What's So Amazing About Grace. We do two chapters every week. So, I have not read the whole book as yet. Mr. Yancey does explain very well what "Grace" is---a free gift from God that is not deserved or earned. He points out why all people need God's grace.

This is a teriffic book that I would highly recommend to anyone. Philip Yancey deals with the tough issues and difficult questions in our fallen world, and shows how only God's grace provides real answers. This book is thought-provoking and challenging---buy it, read it, and ask the Lord to help you apply its lessons to your life!!

A refreshing look at God's love applied in life's tough situations. Not filled with cliches, just good food for thought.

In short, this book changed my life. I was a relatively new pastor when I first read this book and I couldn't finish it. I spent so much time praying, weeping, and struggling with the challenges Yancey was presenting. After reading it, I vowed to God that our church would be a church where grace was proclaimed - where the most sinful elements of our world would find welcome as Jesus welcomed such people - to give to others the grace we all desire from God. I learned how much I hated grace and had to confess it. God has worked a miracle in my life thanks to His servant here.
