Like millions of Christians, Dr. Larry Crabb has always considered his prayer life a weakness: dull, crisis-driven and mostly lifeless. But something new happened when he began practicing the four steps of what he calls the PAPA prayer - a relational, conversational approach to talking with and enjoying God. Each step of this revolutionary method promotes the thought that "prayer is getting more of God rather than getting more from God." As Crabb shares his own journey and education in the mysteries of prayer, you'll see yourself and God in a very different light, altering the way you talk and listen to Him. A "Practical Helps" section at the end will help you put the book's principles into practice.
"The movement .. from 'I should pray' to 'I want to pray' is the revolutionary result of fidelity to The PAPA Prayer."
--Brennan Manning, author of The Ragamuffin Gospel

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about their prayer life. I wish I had this book 20 years ago. PAPA Prayer has taken my prayer life to another level in God.

Interesting-perplexing and exciting giving me plenty to think about in terms of my relationship to God and the demands I make without offering much in return- I hope the concepts of prayer in this book will allow me to develop a richer and closer relationship to God and Jesus

Still going through this book but as always I find Larry's readings refreshing on subject I already know to be true. He just shines them in a light for me that is much more easier for me to understand. I don't know if this is just a personal thing for me but by the look at other peoples reviews of his books over the years it appears I am certainly not the only one that feels this way.
The PAPA Prayer is most assuredly not another self help book. In fact it seems delightfully opposite. It is accurate to scripture and of a sound mind. I am enjoying the read thoroughly.

I'm just beginning to read and savor this book, it is taking quite a while because I have to "chew" on it quite a bit, but what I have read is tremendous. I'd recommend it!

I've prayed to God and Jesus daily for a long time. This book tells you how to have a real relationship with God - to know really Him. The stories Dr. Crabb tells helps to put the PAPA Prayer in the proper perspective to learn how to pray get to know God, to fill your heart with His Spirit. I'm going back through the book to keep the meaning of "PAPA" fresh in my mind. I highly recommend "The PAPA Prayer."
