We live in an on-the-go society that values stimulation over stillness. But God ordained the Sabbath as a day of rest, our "prescription" for peace of mind. In these 90 insightful and soul-soothing devotions, McGuirk helps women reclaim and practice the serenity the world seeks to steal. Features personal challenges, study questions, and helpful indexes. 352 pages, hardcover from B&H.
For women who desire spiritual rest in this restless world, Rest Assured
offers ninety soul-soothing devotionals based solidly on Scripture.
Author Nancy McGuirk leads a weekly womens Bible study in Atlanta
with more than five hundred in attendance. Her insights are always
well-tuned to what busy moms, singles, students, professionals, and
many others long to hear from Gods Word.
Most uniquely, the theme of rest doubles in meaning at the end of each
devotion, with a "For the rest of your life" challenge that promotes
both self-improvement and self-preservation. The book also features a
foreword by Billy Grahams daughter, Ruth Graham, as well as a heart-
centering daily prayer.

Rest Assured is balm for the wounds of life caused by too much: too much going on, too much to own, too much to worry about - and, the list goes on and on and on.
Solidly based on the Word of God, Rest Assured allows the reader the disciplines of prayer, meditation, and Bible Study as they relate to the lives we live, and the struggles we face. Written in conversational style, it is an inspired compilation that one might enjoy as a devotional or a group might explore as a study tool. It is a deep treasure.
