Good manners are important at every stage of life, especially during the teenage years when social horizons are broadening, first jobs are being pursued, higher education is considered, and the independence of young adulthood is just a blink away. Etiquette teacher June Hines Moore expertly guides you through a variety of key social interactions, such as: Making a good impression, what to wear, how to make a conversation, dating, public manners, job interviews, being a host or guest, cell phones and e-mail, RSVPs and thank you notes, and eating etiquette. Parents and teachers are invited to get involved with their own special pages to help facilitate various interactive role playing exercises, quizzes, demonstrations, tips, a Q and A session, and more. Andreola Review

Manners Made Easy for Teens caught our eye in the CBD catalog when my wife, Yolanda, and I agreed to help homeschool my young teenage brothers. They were hardly thrilled when they heard of our plans. As we went through the lessons, however, the boys enjoyed learning how to open a door for someone, make introductions, properly shake hands, be polite about cell phone usage, and more. The exercises kept the classes interactive and light. We found it to be an excellent foundation for understanding and practicing the basics of etiquette. To demonstrate the deeper meaning, we added reasons why manners are important. We also used examples of people from history, situations from classic novels, and truths from the Bible. Whether you add your own specifics as we did or go through the chapters as they are, Manners Made Easy for Teens is a helpful place to start. Over the weeks, the boys were not the only ones who were reminded to practice thoughtfulness! 104 pages, softcover from B&H.
