The Bible is not only the foundation for Christianity, but it is the unique tome through which much of Western civilization, literature, history and science have been influenced. Let Ruth Beechick, well-respected author of many practical homeschooling books, provide an educational template with the Bible as the center and reason for studying. She moves through specific subjects with suggestions for teaching, along with reading, study, thinking and writing skills...always with the Bible first in mind. This book is full of the foundational guidance that will benefit new or experienced homeschoolers, and provides solid practical support as well as an encouragement to return to a wiser, more Biblically centered model of education. 214 pages with index, softcover.

I think it is a wonderful book! I would recommend it to any home schooling family that thinks their education should be centered around God's Word. Although I was hoping for more scripture verses that would back up the defense for home schooling.

This is a great book! I highly recommend all of Ruth Beechick's books, but this one is fantastic if you want to give your children a God-centered education instead of a "man-centered" one. We are currently using the principles she outlines in our homeschool.

Everything that Ruth Beechick writes is excellent, but this is the star of them all. Every parent, homeschooling or not, should read this book. It is the best guide to educating our children that I have read and I've read many! The information it imparts is Biblical, practical, understandable and very do-able.
