There is Tremendous Power in Forgiving
The Power of Forgiveness mission could be summarized in Ephesians 6:12. It states, âÂÂFor we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high placesâÂÂ. This book alerts us to the spiritual warfare surrounding us intending for us to take our eyes off our calling, and never fulfilling our destiny. Strong emphasis is placed on making us aware that people are not our enemies. Demonic spirits manipulates people into offending and hurting others, without them being aware. Therefore, instead of holding un-forgiveness against these individuals, we need to forgive them. We should separate the actions of the person from the person. Separate the âÂÂwhoâ from the âÂÂwhatâÂÂ. In order to do this we have to learn to look past the offense and see that the person is a puppet being used by the devil. We should treat others as we would like to be treated. As the offending party, we would want forgiveness and mercy. The author used Matthew 18:21-35 to demonstrate this point. In this passage, we are reminded that if we donâÂÂt forgive then our heavenly father will not forgive us. Again, we should forgive because in the Kingdom of God we are required to freely give as a result of us freely receiving. In distributing forgiveness we imitate our heavenly father and advance the kingdom.
If we choose to abhor un-forgiveness, we place ourselves in a position for tormenting spirits to be released in our lives. Living with un-forgiveness is walking in the flesh, which prevents us from receiving healing and our prayers being answered . Again, if we do not show love and forgiveness we are not sons but servants of God. Dr. Brian Adams states, âÂÂmany people experiencing fear and phobias are due to tormenting spirits, brought about as a result of un-forgiveness or fear from traumatic situations âÂÂp.110.
The problem with un-forgiveness is, it affects not only the offended party but others they influence, because hurt people hurt other people. As a member of the Body of Christ it affects other members.
As un-forgiveness is like drinking poison, forgiveness on the other hand brings healing. The same power which saves from sin provides forgiveness and healing in every area of life such as physical, spiritual, relationships etc. An example of the benefit of forgiveness can be seen in the life of Joseph (Genesis 50:16-20) when he forgave his brothers. Although his brothers meant it for evil, God turned it for good.
Dr. Brian Adams mentioned he leads people in the prayer of forgiveness before they repeat the prayer for salvation or healing, so they can be made whole in every area of their lives. As a result of doing this he has seen many healed.
Chapter 8 entitled âÂÂA Note from KarenâÂÂs Heartâ where the authorâÂÂs wife speaks, will resonate with many. She wrote about how easy it is to show compassion to people we werenâÂÂt involved with, and we should extend this same grace to individuals who have offended us.
Reading and writing about forgiveness is easy. However, this is something we need to practice everyday, because each day will bring new opportunities to be offended.

Take a deeper look!
Here I was thinking I didn't have an issue of forgiving people who have offended me, hurt me, and walked all over me. Dr. Brian Adams did a wonderful job writing this book on forgiveness and weaving in so many scriptures to show the biblical truth. While reading this book, the Holy Spirit went deep into my heart and brought many things to the light I had no idea were buried in my heart. In the book the author includes testimonies of numerous healing's and goes over things a few times in each chapter which really helps it sink into your spirit. What great revelation comes with this book on forgiveness! This was a free ebook given to me by the publisher. The thoughts above are my own.

A Revelation of Forgiveness as a Release of Power
