Every nurse should read this book....it is a gift to you...I am ordering one for each of my dear nurse friends...I ordered the book by suggestion of a missionary friend...she said to encourage me as I begin a 2 year journey of major health problems...I wish I could afford to order multiple copies for Hospice,my church leaders...especially the ones that see the sick and homebound...it is just incredible...there is one page speaking directly to nurses....am getting it printed and framed as a gift to some very special nurses I have known in my life..thank you Amy Carmichael....what a timeless work....

It was God Himself who put Amy Carmichael's, Rose From Brier in my hands. At the time I was not bed-ridden; now I am, ninety percent of the time. God was preparing me, and in His way made Amy as a sister to me. This wounded and weary servant/soldier tells intimately and honestly of the parched and barren landscape of her chronic pain, with no oasis in sight. But, He comes to her. "All is well again, for He has come..." Amy's verse-- "How entered, by what secret stair, I know not, knowing only He was there." This verse, I memorized. And I have meditated on it many, many times. Rose From Brier has become a treasured friend to me. I recommend it for those who are seriously ill and for those who care for the seriously ill. Amy wrote of "book-friends," and of how glad she would be if "the little Rose might be that, to even one." Her "little Rose" has surely become "that" to many more than one.
