From the long hair and bell-bottoms of the Woodstock generation to the spiked hair and pierced ears of the MTV crowd, the challenge of helping children mature into responsible adults hasn't changed. But this bestseller has! First published in 1970, it's now revised to offer today's parents Dobson's wise, up-to-the-minute counsel on raising confident, self-controlled kids. 276 pages, softcover from Tyndale.
Children need love, trust, affection--and discipline. From one generation to the next, the challenge of helping children into responsible adults doesnt change. Dr. Dobsons classic
Dare to Discipline, a practical, reassuring guide for caring parents, has sold over 2 million copies since its release in 1970. What gives a book that kind of staying power? The ability to meet a real, felt need in the marketplace. Today, a whole new generation of parents is turning to Dr. Dobsons wise counsel. Some things never change.
Tyndale House Publishers and Dr. Dobson are proud to present The New Dare to Discipline, completely updated to meet family needs in the 90s.

My only regret in reading this book is that I hadn't read it before rearing my children. This book has given me insight into child rearing that could only come from God. I highly recommend this book to anyone who interacts with children, so that pretty much includes everyone. Thank you Dr. Dobson for writing this book. You've helped me understand my 5 year old granddaughter & made our lives much calmer.

If you only "ever" buy but one book, this has to be it! I raised my son, by Dr. Dobson's Christian methods, and had it not been for his Godly advice, I doubt that my son would be the Wonderful Christian man, husband, and father that he is today!

This book changed the lives of everyone in my family! I have 3 children; eleven, eight, and three. My youngest son was running our household. He brought chaos to everything we ever did. It was extremely hard for my older children as it limited what I was willing to do with them because I didn't want to deal with another behavior problem. This book is full on no nonsense tips and praise God do they work. Thanks Dr. Dobson! You have truly changed our lives!

We raised our daughter with the original Dare to Discipline. I purchased this version for her to use with her baby (due in September). I scanned through the book and loved what I saw. I’m sure it will provide the same wonderful advice for my daughter as the original one did for us.

This is one of the best help books ever written. I am soon to be a grandmother and one of my daughters has asked for the books I used to raise her. She remembered the discipline with love and wants to do the sam with her child.

I am a grandmother who used the original Dare to Discipline book to raise my own kids. I swore by it then and I swear by it now. I purchased this newer version for one of my children for use with their own children. They have already told me that they see great improvements in their child. It's wonderful to know that Dr. Dobson's advice is as relevant now as it was when I was a young mother.

DARE TO DISCIPLINE is practical, biblical and easy to understand. About a year ago, I read Dr. Dobson's THE STRONG-WILLED CHILD, but it was mostly concepts and seemed a little too abstract once we hit the toddler years. DARE TO DISCIPLINE is the practical "how to" that goes along with the biblical concept of THE STRONG WILLED CHILD.
