Product Description

An engaging and in-depth tale of a couple who influenced the birth of American missions, Bless God And Take Courage (one of Ann Judson's favorite saying) provides an intriguing trail of never-before-published discoveries about the Judsons. Hunt skillfully examines from their first trip to Burma and their influence on the formation of a denomination to Adinoram's imprisonment at Let Ma Yoon and the aftermaths of the Judsons' deaths.

This book is by far the best and most indepth book on the Judsons that I have ever read. Rosalie Hunt did her research by actually going to Burma. She left no stone unturned. I will read it again and again and use it for reference. This book will give you a passion for missions and our mission heritage.

A wonderful book for those who love biography and history! I had never heard of missionary Adoniram Judson and Ann, Sarah, and Emily Judson, but now I have wept and rejoiced with them through their trials, tragedies, and triumphs in Burma. Because of their selfless devotion to spreading the gospel in a dark land many today know, as Adoniram would weep, "Oh, the love of Christ!" My only objection to the book was that the author could have condensed some of the "legacy" into the "history" portion. It was really unnecessary to know all the stories of the Judson children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc. I feel the book was complete when the old Burman woman who met with Ann at the prison heard "the rest of the story" all those years later. Still, don't miss the first 22 chapters of this great book!
