I tried to read the 1967 edition. He tells a patient a women beaten by her husband to give in to Him and she will find life and worthwhile happiness she tells Dr Mcmillen she leaving her husband He asks her "Is this that the kind of love that suffers long and is kind. Is that God's love for this women and her children? pg53 He also blame sexual immorality for women suffering with goiter,arthritis and a women who went in an insane asylum pg 50. I could go on. These conclusions to christian today are hardly credible. I will not look to this book for biblical wisdom! March 10, 2010

IMO Disappointing, The Original was better. More S.I. and less David were needed in this updated version. More moralizing and less Scripture in this edition. August 31, 2009

I read the 1st copy of this Book more than 20 years ago and loved it. This updated version has much to be desired.By comparing the old and new versions their seems to be more Stearns and less McMillen.Their seems to be more moralising and less Bibilical truth. I was very disappointed in the update. August 17, 2009

Very glad to know this fine book has been updated to include AIDS, including African countries that practice circumcision NOT having many AIDS victims compared to African countries NOT practicing circumcision having high AIDS population. The earlier edition's statement that Jewesses rarely have cervical cancer compared to sexual partners of UNcircumcised men was NOT mentioned at all though which made me wonder if that was found not to be true. Googling that question did not really get an answer except for the additional probability that Jewesses have FEWER sexual partners which would account for some of the reduction. As I read this book, I'd mention something to my husband; he said, "I'll have to read that book."I read quite a lot of "Alternative" health literature as well as a lot that questions our modern acceptance of/dependence on pills & surgeries. As I read this book, I told my husband that we need to pay more attention to FORGIVING, NOT holding resentments, and LOVING. "They'll know you are Christians by your love" can pay dividends in our health here on earth while we are awaiting our entrance into eternal life. July 27, 2009
