Strobel sets forth 15 key insights, from his own experience and from psychological research, for why people steer clear of God and the church. He also offers a fascinating look at Christianity in the eyes of a former atheist. His life-changing interaction with Jesus is an inspirational story for all those with unchurched friends and family. He offers practical strategies for both building relationships with non-Christians, and getting them into the church. He also shares some firsthand advice for surviving marriage to an unbelieving spouse (his wife became a Christian before he did, and it caused quite a bit of tension).
Strobel says he wrote Inside the Mind of Unchurched Harry and Mary to "help advance your understanding of unchurched people so that your evangelistic efforts and the efforts of your church might become more effective." And it will likely do just that. Strobel's style is conversational, and his love for the unchurched shines throughout. He knows what Jesus has done for him, and wants to share that with as many people as possible. After you read this book, you will too. He sees this book as tangible evidence that God can and does work all things for the good of those who love Him.

Jamie5 Stars Out Of 5September 8, 2010JamieGreat book on understanding the unchurched. Loved this book! Some key elements talk about how churches can design programs and services to reach the unchurched. like limiting the "church speak" and acknowledging that for many becoming a Christian is a process, not an instant decision at the end of a service. He cites many studies to back up his information.
Vicki Rodriguez5 Stars Out Of 5November 19, 2007Vicki RodriguezI have been a Christian since I was 9 years old (I am now 30), so I was really had no idea how unbelievers think. This book really helped to change that.
Wes5 Stars Out Of 5June 27, 2002WesDo you really want to win people for Christ? This book will certainly help to equip you for the journey of telling other's about our Lord. Strobel tells us first why people really avoid God and church, and he helps us understand their frame of mind. Then he gives insightful, common-sense ways, to minister to unbelievers, that I really never thought about before. He reminded me of the exciting journey in a life that pleases our Creator. It is not a life of rules and strict limitations, but one of joy and fulfillment and has a true purpose. He has inspired me to share that with others. This is a great book, and very life applicable.
