Product Description

Based on the Acton Institute's popular documentary The Birth of Freedom, this seven-session DVD study, designed for use with the Birth of Freedom Participant's Guide, shows the biblical roots of the concept of freedom and debunks the notion that Christianity held back the development of Western civilization.

You'll learn about the historical development of the concept of freedom and see how it grows out of the Judeo-Christian worldview. Secular elites have long dictated the terms of Western history. Along the way, they have convinced many that the West is free and prosperous in spite of our Christian heritage.

The Birth of Freedom video curriculum provides you with an invaluable tool for countering this revision of history and better grounding your faith in the biblical vision of freedom. Sessions include:

1. A Civilization without Slaves
2. The Quest for Political Freedom
3. The Myth of the Dark Ages
4. Pilgrim's Progress
5. The Abolitionists
6. The Tale of Two Revolutions
7. Relativism vs. Religion
DVD Region1 DVD Playable in Bermuda, Canada, United States and U.S. territories. Please check if your equipment can play DVDs coded for this region. Learn more about DVDs and Videos

Very high quality in substance, presentation and entertainment value. Aprox. 10 to 15 minutes per session (7) with usually 3 follow-up questions after. Wonderful for a group study.

Simply, the study is akin to the movie, "It's A Wonderful Life" in that to remove Jesus Christ from history is to have a world that is--per CS Lewis--"Always winter, never Christmas".

If such teachings were allowed (makes me ill to write that as when was the window of 'fresh air' of honest inquiry closed in education?) back into public schools (it was there when I was growing up!) young minds would be enlightened and freed, and we might become a thankful nation once again.
