Linspired reveals the remarkable journey of the ultimate underdog, Jeremy Lin, superstar of the New York Knicks and the first American-born player of Chinese/Taiwanese descent to play in the NBA.
In spite of being cut by two NBA teams before he signed with the Knicks, Lin always trusted that God had a plan for his life and his talents: "I'm not exactly sure how it is all going to turn out, but I know for a fact that God has called me to be here now in the NBA," says Lin in Linspired.
After weeks of sitting at the end of the bench, a teammates injury finally placed Lin on the court. Since then, he has captivated sports fans throughout the world with his tremendous skill and humble response to Linsanity.
Weighing in on this phenomenon are tenniss Michael Chang, the first notable Asian-American athlete, Lins pastor, Stephen Chen, and Pat Williams, senior vice president of the Orlando Magic. Other features include eight pages of full-color photos and in-depth interviews with Lin himself. Here is the remarkable inside story of the meteoric rise of Jeremy Lin.
Mike Yorkey is the author, co-author, editor, or collaborator of one hundred books. He has written for The Los Angeles Times travel section, Skiing, Tennis Week, World Tennis, City Sports, and Racquet. He lives in Encinitas, California.

You get a good look at all of the hard work Jeremy put in to be able to make it to the NBA. In the same breath, you see that Jeremys priorities are not being a great basketball player, but his relationship with God.
Not only was Jeremys story very interesting, the interview with former tennis star Michael Chang was full of great advice for Jeremy, and all Christians for that matter.
Id recommend Linspired in a heartbeat. It wont take you long to read, but itll leave you motivated to go and work harder where God has called you.
IreneUnited States5 Stars Out Of 5An interesting storyJune 6, 2012IreneUnited StatesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is about Jeremy Lin and is written by Mike Yorkey. Mr. Yorkey has written the well liked Playing with Purpose books and this new book about the famed basketball star will also not disappoint.
This book follows the beginning of Jeremy Lin's basketball career. It talks about how he got into the NBA and how much his family history and his family influenced him. The author does well at writing about sports. He holds your attention without boring you. Even if you don't like basketball you will still enjoy reading about this young man's journey. I found this an interesting story and thought it was an easy read.
I gave the book 5/5 stars because the book is not just for fans of Jeremy Lin and basketball but also those who enjoy a good human-interest story. I would recommend this book for any sports fan and especially those who enjoy basketball.
I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
