Contemplative Youth Ministry is one of the best books on ministry I have ever read. The integration of stories from pastors, students and leaders who are living out the principles of this book gives your reading a therapeutic aspect. If you are looking for 10 steps to grow your youth group, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a fresh way to evaluate and refocus your ministry and life, this is a must read.

Seriously, one, if not, the best book on student ministry. It is a great reminder of what we are really here for. Very refreshing and informative. I am having all of our small group leaders and every other leader read it. Pretty Awesome and practical. A definite MUST READ!

I've read a lot of youth ministry books. This is my favorite. There is a lot of great information and practical information in this book. In this fast paced day and age its hard to know how to slow down with your youth and have a real relationship with Jesus.

This is the best book on youth ministry in a long time. Full of passion and heart that gets beyond the program'em into the kingdom youth ministry formats developed in the 1980s. It's no wonder that the book has received so many great reviews from veterans like Kenda Creasy Dean, Duffy Robbins, Doug Fields, Tony Jones, Chap Clark and just about everyone else in youth ministry.
The review by Gary Gilley is completely out of line. Folks should know that Mr. Gilley doesn't count Catholics, Pentacostals or any Christian who believes they can enounter or experience God as Christian. CBD needs to get a better reviewer.--Kirk Wulf
