Larry Rinholm5 Stars Out Of 5January 12, 2008Larry RinholmThis book was like a breath of fresh air. I too went through university in the late 70's and early 80's when in the scientific disciplines it was not "cool" to believe that God was necessary. Although, I held to my belief unlike some others of that era the effects of the materialistic teachings have left their scars. In reading this book not only did I feel a sense of vindication but also a motivation to share these arguments with my friends and colleagues. I have an undergrad degree in biochemistry so was drawn to read more on Michael Behe's challenge to evolution on the basis of the "irriducible comlexity" of biological machines at a cellular level. If this was the only evidence put forward in the book, for a "Designer" it would have been worth while. With the additional evidences in the other scientific disciplines outlined so eloquently the book in my opinion is a must read. The only weakness I could see was that at this point in time Lee Strobel makes a poor skeptic as he tries at times to debate the experts he is interviewing. Despite this I was extremely annoyed that both our regional public library and the college library did not carry this book on their shelves. Not only that but almost all the referenced readings in this book were also conspicuously not available, which I think says a lot about the "achademic community". This book is not only convincing in putting forth evidence for a creator, it is well researched and the scientific explainations although sometimes technical are outlined in language that most everyone can understand, at least in enough detail to get the impact accross. In conclusion I would highly recommend this book to anyone. Particularly I would think it is a must read for any student in high school considering further study in the scientific disciplines where they obviously will get their fill of the counter arguments. It would seem that our society still has a few hold-outs that think God unnecessary.
Q: Mass paperback versus Trade paperback What is the difference between The Case for a Creator mass paperback and the more expensive trade paperback?
