A very well-written book including types and causes of depression, balanced discussions of treatments for depression (including prayers for healing), and info on various Christian counseling methods that might be encountered while seeking help. I found the chapter on what the family can do especially helpful. The book includes stories of those who have battled depression from all walks of life, including the authors' own experiences and/or those of their families, various individuals who have written their stories for the book, and the stories of various Christian public figures, historical and contemporary, who have battled depression. The information is written for lay people, but would serve as a good reference book for those who counsel as well.
