Product Description

It's one thing to talk about grace; it's another to taste its power. This book takes you and your study group for interactive, gut-level encounters with radical, life-changing grace. Through candid video interviews, Philip Yancey integrates true-life faces and experiences with 10 Powerful Sessions that will rock your pre-conceptions, get you thinking and talking, and help you discover why grace is more amazing than you ever dreamed.

This Participant's Guide, which can be used with or without the Video Curriculum, will help you not only gain a better understanding of what grace is and why it is so precious, but also integrate it into your life. Engaging questions, provocative Bible studies, and lively discussions are just a part of the package. You'll also be challenged to look for grace where it counts most: in your own character and personal life.

Worked well with the DVD making it easy to make notes. Our small group had great discussions. The "Looking for Grace inside myself" really helped me reach deep into my heart.

I think Yancey is so right on with this study, and I think it has never been needed more than right now.

This study has really opened up my eyes about what grace really is. It makes me look at people in a whole new light. Philip Yancey does a great job of recruiting different people in his study who have either real life experiences on the topics or wonderful wisdom. With all the difficult issues facing us today, this is a great study for small groups with many opportunities for wonderful discussions. With Jesus as our best example of how to extend grace, this study challeges us to life out our faith in a world that rarely ever extends us compassion, mercy, or wonderful amazing grace.

This video will transform the way you see people. Forgiveness is truly hard, and Jesus truly demanded that we forgive as we have been forgiven. If you want to think very deeply and thoroughly about this fundamental principle of our faith, then get this for you, your church, or small group. Shortly after going through this curriculum, I was faced with a bitter experience, and I drew deeply upon this study. And by the way, unlike what the other reviewer said, there's no heresy or "homosexual" condoning in this course. In fact, you find that you are struggling with what is being said, you then realize what it must have been like to be the Pharisees hearing this for the first time. It's strongly biblical and challenging.

I ordered the curriculum kit, books and participant's guides for my Sunday school class. This study has been a teacher' s dream. The discussion has been excellent. WHAT'S SO AMAZING ABOUT GRACE has challenged many of us more than any other book except the Bible.

All in all this is a good study. However you will find some personal views of Philip Yancey that are totally against what God says in relation to Homosexuals. At some points Mr. Yancey is on the verge of denouncing Jesus, but for those that are not in depth with Christ most of the negative views will be overlooked. The name of the book is catchy so most will overlook things. Please do pay close attention to the reason God said don't eat the shell fish, Not because they looked ODD as Philip says, please read the book of Leviticus and form your opinion on facts. if you choose this book or study please pay close attention to the opening statements of Philip and keep them in mind as you read the book. quote "I thought I would be black listed for my comments"
