Recently, a young woman in my church suffered a similar loss and this was the title that came to my mind. I knew it would be just what she needed to gently guide her through her grief and back to God's healing love. The journal sections are a plus. I HIGHLY recommend it.
Elisabeth5 Stars Out Of 5December 4, 2009ElisabethThis book is amazing, by the time our son was born he was already with Jesus. It's truly been the hardest thing I've ever been through or ever will go through. We struggled through years of infertility before I found out I was pregnant with our son. Funny thing is I ordered her book Longing for a child and by the time it came to my door I was already pregnant but didn't know it yet. For those who've given this book to those who can't have children Longing for a child is a better choice. I was told I'd never have children and while that was extremely painful, having my son and making funeral arrangements for him was a million times harder than going through infertility. This book was written for those that have lost a child. People are told all the time that they can't have children thankfully with modern medicine most of the time that diagnosis rings untrue. She has written a book called Longing for a child (and it's cheaper than $10) for those who have the infertility situation.

Even though it was later, I still turned to it when I needed help processing emotions. It has also become the gift I give to friends when they have miscarried.
Angela Hansen5 Stars Out Of 5June 10, 2009Angela HansenBecause the Lord walked with us so mightily through the events involved in my miscarriage, I thought the healing process would be short and God just took care of everything "on the spot" so to speak. God is definately taking care of me, but it didn't take long to realize that the healing would be a process and with the process there are phases. My mom gave me the book and I'm so glad I started reading it. It seems like each time I entered a new phase of the process, that's what I would then read about in the book. It deals with pain, anger, unforgiveness (even of yourself and toward God which were significant for me), the way men grieve differently, hope and much more. If I had the money I would buy a whole bunch to drop off at the Dr.'s office. Knowing that one in three pregnancies result in miscarriage-there are way too many women out there who need help in their grief process and may not even know it-like I started out. I definately recommend this book.
Amanda Peterson5 Stars Out Of 5May 4, 2009Amanda PetersonMy miscarriage is the hardest thing I've ever had to face in my life. While I know that it will be a lifetime of grieving and missing this child in my life, I can now see hope through the pain. Words cannot express how this book has and will continue to help me. The author tells some of her own story and speaks from a deeply personal loss. She will give you (or your loved one) permission to grieve, mourn, and work through all those emotions that come with the loss of a child. Even now, months after losing my baby, I go back to this book and read certain chapters that bring comfort. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
