She's the last of six Lowcountry sisters to tie the knot, so when Elle Garvey's quarterback-turned-minister boyfriend Jeremiah pops the question, the family resolves to give them the send off of the century.
But as Jeremiah leaves Elle to plan the wedding and moves ahead to Houston for a large pastorate there, Elle listens for her own call to the ministry-but none seems forthcoming. And with the influx of new residents in coastal Beaufort, South Carolina, Elle's art gallery business has never been more fruitful. She's even begun to successfully show her own paintings-paintings she created after Jeremiah left town.
Soon Elle's widowed tenant, Frank, arrives, throwing a real wrench in the works, and offering a new kind of love that soon takes hold.and blossoms.
Elles living the dream-but is it her dream or his?
Elle loves life in Beaufort, South Carolina-lazy summer days on the sand bar, coastal bonfires, and dinners with friends sharing a lifetime of memories. And shes found her niche as the owner of a successful art gallery too. Life is good.
Then the dynamic pastor of her small town church sweeps her off her feet. Shes never known a man like Jeremiah-one who breathes in confidence and exhales all doubt. When he proposes in the setting sunlight, Elle hands him her heart on a silver platter.
But Jeremiahs just accepted a large pastorate in a different state. If shes serious about their relationship, Elle will take "the call," too, leaving behind the people and place she loves so dearly. Elles friendship with her new tenant, widower Heath McCord, and his young daughter make things even more complicated.
Is love transferrable across the miles? And can you take it with you when you go?

I think what I liked best about this book was the triangle aspect of the romance. It made for a very realistic conflict. I loved the pastor ... but the lawyer was compelling as well. I rode the waves of the story, hoping for Elle to find her bliss. I loved this book!

I LOVED EVERY MINUTE of this book. From the very first page to the last I delighted in Elle's life and her family, and you will too. Rachel Hauck has captured my heart with Elle's story. It's filled with fun, unforgettable characters, situations that made me laugh out loud, and
parts which were thought provoking. Rachel drew me into Elle's life,
and her dilemma. Rachel answers some questions that we may have asked
ourselves while reading. Questions such as: "Just because we have feelings of love for someone does it mean that we were meant to marry the person?","What is real love anyway?", "Does everything go smoothly just because you have given control to God?", and "Is there such a thing as a social Christian?". Be prepared to stay up late so that you can finish reading this book. You won't want it to end, I know I didn't.

Take a look at this delightful book! It is a sweet story with some real life struggles in it, but for those of us who like a sweet romance, you will enjoy this book.
Elle (whom we met in Sweet Caroline) is engaged to be married! She is ready to rip up her life, give up her plans, but things fall in the path of perfection and she starts to wonder why she feels like everything is wrong.
When things get really hard, she discovers through an old friend how to really pray and bring her requests to God, even though life does not look so good at the moment. Discouragements are there, but good friends are as well. You will fall in love with Elle as I did....(and it is pronounced like the Letter "L") I especially enjoyed her dad, who said he would not give up one of his girls for any son!
I loved this cute story as it was real to life romance with twists and turns and you get to find out what happened to Mitch and Caroline too from the first book!

Couldn't wait to start it and couldn´t put it down once I did! It really touched my heart. Elle is charming, funny, and way too lacking in self-confidence (just like a lot of us). Her story made me remember that even as Christians it's much too easy to stray away from God, and how lovingly He is waiting for us to return.
Read the book. You'll love it! And, hey, keep a watch out for feathers!

I have become a Rachel Hauck fan, and whenever one of her books is around my house, I end up having to fend of my teenage daughter to get my hands on it.
Love Starts with Elle is a fantastic love story that will keep you turning pages as you discover faith and love between the pages.
Now, my daughter has loaned the book out to her friend, Allie, and I am sure it will make the rounds in the junior high hallways.
But this love story is great for all ages. A great romance always leaves you wnating more, and I can't wait for Rachel's next book.

I was actually starting to feel my body tense up in this book! Will Elle do this? Or will she do that? oooooooh what is that girl thinking??? arghhh she had me biting my nails at a few points in the book!
Can you tell I liked it? Rachel Hauck did a fabulous job of drawing me into the characters and bringing life to her story. I loved that it was realistic, and was still a romantic dreamy kinda thang if that makes sense?
While there are a few parts that some people may not like (because it does portray the realistic sides of life and our slip ups). I have to say I totally loved this book because of it. It showed how God can work in our lives regardless of our situations and our desperation!
So if you’re looking for a fantastic Chick Lit to read you need this book!!! I seriously couldn’t put it down!
